Faculty Recruitment Announcement Department of Geography, National Taiwan University, invites applications for 1–2 full-time faculty positions (assistant, associate or full professor) in teaching and research, with an expected start date of August 2026. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. We welcome scholars whose expertise engages geographical/spatial issues across geography, earth and environmental sciences, urban and regional planning, land economics/land administration or related fields—either to strengthen the department’s interdisciplinary research in geography or to deepen technology applications to the humanities and social sciences, area studies, and environmental sustainability, including: Track-1. Physical geography and the earth critical zone: Land surface processes, environmental ecology, soil science, remote-sensing hydrology, socio-ecological systems, land modeling and land use; Track-2. Human geography and environmental studies: Local–regional development, economic geography, culture–society–nature studies, regional studies and geography, world regional geography and international development, and global environmental change (human development and policy dimensions); Track-3. Interdisciplinary sustainability studies integrating natural and social/humanistic disciplines with active stakeholder participation. Priority will be given to candidates able to teach one or more of the following courses: programming, cartography & geographic information systems (GIS), statistics (with lab), and spatial data analysis. We also welcome applicants whose teaching spans critical, cross-disciplinary work in human and technical/digital geographies (critical studies of digital technologies) or who have experience with critical fieldtrip/fieldwork pedagogy. We seek candidates with strong potential to lead innovative geographic research, a passion for teaching, and a collaborative spirit to help expand our department’s interdisciplinary capacity. In addition, designate one publication from the past three years (since April 2023) as your representative work. The representative work should be a paper already published in an SCI/SSCI journal with the applicant as first author or corresponding author, or a work meeting an equivalent standard, such as a rigorously reviewed scholarly monograph. 6.
