Position Description

Research Scientist in Insect Neurotoxicology in the Dong lab

We seek a Research Scientist to conduct research on the molecular actions of volatile pyrethroids on voltage gated sodium channels. We are looking for someone who is trained in electrophysiology of insect sodium channels and XXX receptors and has direct experience with pyrethroids. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Entomology, Toxicology, Neurobiology or related fields and evidence of strong research productivity.

The Research Scientist will be responsible for: 1) conducting laboratory research, 2) data analysis, and 3) preparation of results for publication. The Research Scientist will also assist the PI (Ke Dong) in overseeing lab projects and helping to train graduate students and undergraduates.

Opportunities will be available for the Research Scientist to explore their own side projects related to the overall goals of the lab research program.

This position requires a PhD degree. 5 or more years of postdoctoral experience conducting scientific research. Multiple publications and notable significant contributions to scientific research
