Position Description

Syracuse University's department of physics and Institute for Quantum and Information Sciences invite applications for postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics to start in September of 2026. 

The successful applicant will join an exciting theoretical physics group, including Simon Catterall, Scott Collier, Jay Hubisz, Jack Laiho, Alexander Maloney, Jason Pollack, Scott Watson, and Aron Wall (to join in Fall 2026) as well as several postdoctoral researchers. Research in our group covers field theory, string theory, particle phenomenology, quantum gravity, quantum information theory, and cosmology. 

For the coming academic year, we expect to make up to three postdoctoral offers in the areas of holography, conformal field theory, quantum gravity, and quantum information theory. However, all areas of high energy physics will be considered.

This position is Full Time FLSA Exempt.  The salary range for this position is $62,400-$65,000.
