Position Description

The Graduate School of Business invites applications for tenure line faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in political economy, beginning September 1, 2026. The position is for scholars of exceptional caliber who will strengthen the political economy group's research and teaching and make a distinctive programmatic contribution to the Graduate School of Business. The political economy group at the GSB is a collaboration of economists and political scientists. We welcome applications from across political economy broadly construed, both theoretical and empirical, and focusing on developed as well as developing countries.

Applicants should have or expect to complete a PhD by September 1, 2026, and should possess outstanding research and teaching skills. The expected base pay range for this position is: 

Assistant Professor: $270,000 - $285,000

The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
