Description
The Villum Young Investigator Program "Emergent Universe from Matrix Quantum Mechanics," directed by Ziqi Yan, invites interested individuals to submit expressions of interest for a Postdoctoral Fellowship for a period of 2 years hosted at the Center of Gravity at the Niels Bohr Institute. The preferred starting date is Fall 2026. We seek an outstanding international individual eager to join an ambitious research program that addresses the quantum aspects of spacetime through string theory and holography. Interested individuals are expected to possess excellent knowledge and a strong research background in modern developments in field theory, string theory, and holography. It is an advantage to have experience/interest in topics related to scattering amplitudes and non-Lorentzian geometries. Interested individuals are encouraged to upload all materials before December 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. For further information about the search, please get in touch with Professor Ziqi Yan at ziqi.yan@nbi.ku.dk. This search is part of a vigorous expansion at the Niels Bohr Institute into the field of Gravitational Physics, bringing together scientists from various areas of theoretical physics and astrophysics to address some of the most pressing questions related to gravity. For more information, please visit our website at https://the-center-of-gravity.com/. The University of Copenhagen strives to reflect the diversity of society and welcomes all qualified individuals, regardless of their personal background. Postdoctoral Fellows at the University of Copenhagen receive a competitive salary (including pension) and funds for travel and computing. Generous parental leave, state-subsidized childcare, vacation, and full medical care are provided to employees in Denmark. A favorable tax scheme is generally granted to international researchers.Application Materials Required:
