Successful candidates will create computational, mathematical, and statistical models to elucidate biological phenomena, in partnership with prominent experimental immunologists and clinicians. A key focus is using AI models to combine large and varied data into theoretical systems for understanding complex biological processes. We are looking for candidates who have hands-on experience in building or using informatics and machine learning systems, like language models or vision transformers, to work with complex, high-dimensional datasets.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine computational, mathematical, and statistical models to understand and explain biological phenomena.
- Create algorithms to integrate large and diverse datasets into theoretical frameworks for modeling complex biological systems. Collaborate closely with leading experts in the fields of experimental immunology and computational biology.
- Contribute to the generation of impactful research findings in the realm of immunology, with potential applications to areas such as cancer research, cell biology, and ecology.
- Present research at meetings and write manuscripts and grants.
Required Competencies:
- Ph.D. in applied mathematics, data science, statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including but not limited to Python, R, C++, Stan, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A demonstrated interest in immunology, cancer research, cell biology, or ecology is advantageous, though not mandatory.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Programming proficiency.
- The candidate must possess the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in applied mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science, plus prior experience applying these skills to biology or related fields.
- Publications that demonstrate expertise in areas related to this project.
- Immunology knowledge or the willingness to learn it quickly.
To apply:
For full consideration, applications must be received by November 15, 2025, and include the following materials:
