Position Description:
Position Description
The theoretical high energy physics group at the Florida State University (FSU) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in theoretical particle physics with focus on QCD and gravity scattering amplitudes and precision calculations for collider physics. The opportunity for teaching experience may be available and will be considered if needed. The position will start in Fall 2026 and will be for 2+1 years, contingent upon funding. Appointments at earlier starting dates can be considered. The FSU high energy theory group comprises four faculty members, Fernando Febres Cordero, Takemichi Okui, Laura Reina, and Kohsaku Tobioka, postdocs, and graduate students. Research interests are very broad, including precision collider phenomenology, effective field theories, scattering amplitudes in gauge theories and gravity, flavor physics, and multiple subjects on physics beyond the Standard Model. This position will focus on modern techniques for the computation of multi-loop scattering amplitudes for applications in collider phenomenology and in the description of compact binary systems. The applicants will be encouraged to collaborate with local PhD students and postdocs as well as to take advantage of the ample expertise in theoretical and experimental particle physics in the Physics Department. The application is through the AJO portal and should include a CV, a research statement, and a list of publications. The applicant should also arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted through the same portal. The review of applications will begin December 5, 2025 and will continue until the position is filled. Florida State University is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
