Position Description

The Department of Physics at the University of Southern California invites applications from qualified candidates for a postdoctoral position in Theoretical Physics. Candidates interested in either Condensed Matter/Quantum Information Theory or High Energy Theory are encouraged to apply. Current faculty at USC include: Itzhak Bars, Nathan Benjamin, Rosa Di Felice, Stephan Haas, Ho Tat Lam, Krzysztof Pilch, Hubert Saleur, Nicholas Warner, and Paolo Zanardi. With a start date of August 2026, the position is for two years, with a possibility of renewal for a third year. The successful candidate should have a PhD and have a strong background and research record in topics that overlap with the interests of the group, which include quantum field theory, quantum matter, quantum dynamics, quantum information theory, conformal field theory, string theory, and quantum gravity.
