Position Description
About the Role: The postdoc will work with Fermilab's quantum sensing group to develop new quantum metrology techniques to measure extremely weak forces such as that exerted by dark matter. The research will focus on establishing rudimentary, few-qubit quantum processing units as the front-end electronics for detector control and readout, using techniques derived from both superconducting and bosonic quantum computing. Appointment is for a specific term, calculated from the time of arrival at Fermilab. Term may be extended as appropriate. Postdoc position is funded from the new award "Developing Quantum 2.0 Resources for Dark Matter Detection" from the DOE-OHEP QuantISED 2.0 program. The postdoc will design, fabricate and operate superconducting quibit devices as front-end electronics for new quantum-enabled experiments as described in the awarded proposal.
