Richard S. Morrison Post-Doctoral (Term) Fellowship
The Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology group at Case Western Reserve University anticipates offering a Richard S. Morrison Post-Doctoral (Term) Fellowship, open to theoretical and computational cosmologists. The position is expected to start no later than Oct. 1, 2026 (earlier/later start date may be negotiated). The successful applicant is likely to be interested in close collaboration with him as well as with other colleagues in theoretical and experimental cosmology, especially Craig Copi, Kurt Hinterbichler, Johanna Nagy and John Ruhl, on CMB data analysis, as well as in collaboration with colleagues in the COMPACT Collaboration at Imperial College London, University of Pittsburgh, and Institute for Theoretical Physics (Madrid) and elsewhere on cosmic topology, CMB anomalies and other large-scale properties of the Universe.
Salary is expected to be in the range of $60k-70k, depending on experience. The fellow will have a research fund available to support travel and other research expenses. The position is expected to be for 3 years, and commitment for three years of funding has been obtained, but contracts will be issued on an annual basis and are subject to receipt of committed funding.
In compliance with the City of Cleveland's Pay Transparency Ordinance (effective October 27, 2025), the annual starting base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $62,652. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. Postdocs receive individual and family healthcare benefits, life insurance, and employee assistance.
