The High Energy Nuclear Theory Group at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position starting in Fall 2026. The group’s research focuses on Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) theory and phenomenology, broadly defined, with strong connections to the experimental programs at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), and the future Electron–Ion Collider (EIC). The group is also actively exploring applications of quantum simulation, tensor-network methods, and machine learning in nuclear and particle physics. Applicants must hold (or be about to receive) a Ph.D. in Theoretical Nuclear or Particle Physics and demonstrate strong potential for independent research. The successful candidate is expected to engage actively with UCLA’s vibrant research community, contribute to collaborative projects, produce original scientific work, and present results in seminars and at international conferences. Bhaumik Prize Postdoctoral Fellowships may be awarded to especially well-qualified candidates.
