Position Description

Postdoc position available at Duke University studying archaeal transcription regulatory networks

A postdoctoral position is available in the Schmid lab, Duke University Biology Department. The research objective for this position is to investigate the function and evolution of transcription networks that regulate extreme stress response in archaeal extremophiles. The ideal candidate has expertise in experimental biology using a combination of genetics, genomics, microbial physiology, and metabolomics approaches. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with other members of our interdisciplinary lab, including computational and other experimental biologists from different disciplinary backgrounds. The successful second candidate should have excellent training in genetics, microbiology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry. Clear evidence of past research productivity is required, and strong communication skills are expected. This position requires a PhD.
