Position Description

The Homer L. Dodge Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Oklahoma (OU) invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in experimental Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) physics with a starting date of August 16, 2026, with 1:1 teaching load. This position in fundamental research is associated with the Center for Quantum Research and Technology (CQRT) at OU. The CQRT (https://ou.edu/cqrt) is hosted in a state-of-the-art physics building with 18,000 square feet of laboratory space that meets NIST-A specifications on environmental control. Campus resources include cleanroom facilities and supercomputer access.

Successful candidates are expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (one class per semester), maintain an outstanding record of original published research, and develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program that complements and expands existing research efforts at OU.

REQUIRED: •Ph.D. in physics or a related field and post Ph.D. experience
