Position Description

Call of interest for Postdoctoral Research Associate

The High Energy Theory Group at Sapienza University of Rome invites applications for multiple postdoc positions. The research fellowships will be particularly focused on the study of new methods to search for light feebly interacting particles, especially in connection with low energy physics, such as carbon based materials, and the use of effective field theories for condensed matter systems. Nonetheless, the successful candidates will be strongly encouraged to work with any of the members of the High Energy Theory Group.

The Physics Department at Sapienza is a vibrant work environment, involved in several areas of physics. The High Energy Theory Group includes Marco Bonvini, Andrea Caputo, Roberto Contino, Angelo Esposito, Marco Nardecchia, Paolo Pani, Mauro Papinutto, Antonello Polosa, Luca Silvestrini, Alfredo Urbano and Mauro Valli, as well as a number of postdocs and Ph.D. students. We have close ties with our neighboring institutions (University of Roma Tre, University of Tor Vergata and INFN Frascati Labs).

Candidates with expertise in dark matter direct and indirect detection, beyond the Standard Model physics, low energy effective field theories, as well as the condensed matter aspects of material response, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applications should include a CV with a list of publications, a short research statement (max 3 pages), and a minimum of two and a maximum of three recommendation letters.

The appointments are expected to be for 2+1 years (extension subject to funding renewal and performance), with a net salary competitive with international standards. All candidates must hold (or soon be completing) a Ph.D. in Physics.

Application Materials Required:
Submit the following items online at this website to complete your application:
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Research statement
  • Two to three reference letters (to be submitted online by the reference writers on this site help popup)
And anything else requested in the position description.
