The Institut de Physique Théorique (IPhT) of the CEA/Saclay and the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique des Hautes Energies (LPTHE) of the Sorbonne Université invite applications for a postdoctoral research position in Theoretical Particle Physics, funded by the ANR P2S2 project.

The position is available initially for a fixed-term duration of 2 years, with the possibility of extension for 1 further year.

The P2S2 project aims at developing parton-shower algorithms with unprecedented (logarithmic) accuracy for jet substructure at the LHC. The project also has connections with analytic resummations and studies of jet substructure observables. 

The selected candidate will work with Gregory Soyez at the IPhT and Matteo Cacciari at the LPTHE, both in the Paris area. Both institutes have a strong QCD and particle physics group and the postdoc will be able to spend time at both locations. 

Applicants should hold a PhD in Physics, or be close to completion, and ideally have a strong background in perturbative quantum chromodynamics (QCD) at particle colliders. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a capacity for independent research work and should have a publication record commensurate with their career stage.
