Position Description

The Quantum Gravity Group at the Institute for Theoretical Sciences at Westlake University, Hangzhou, China, led by Professor Hongguang Liu, is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join us. We are a dynamic group focused on fundamental problems in quantum gravity, quantum field theory, and their mathematical structures. Our work leverages a combination of non-perturbative methods, including advanced analytic techniques, numerical simulations, and insights from quantum information theory.

Our research interests include, but are not limited to: - Non-perturbative Quantum Gravity: Using a variety of tools to explore foundational aspects, develop numerical and analytic formulations, and apply them to cosmology and black hole physics. - Quantum Information in QFT and Gravity: Applying concepts from quantum information theory to understand spacetime microstructure, including rigorous results in algebraic QFT. - Topological Quantum Field Theories and related mathematical structures. - Modified Gravity as Effective Field Theories: Classifying and testing alternative theories through both phenomenological and formal analytic studies.

The group currently comprises 4 (visiting) postdocs and PhD students, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. We maintain active collaborations with other leading groups within Westlake University and all over China and have a strong network of international partners. The detailed information about our research can be found on our website: https://qg.lab.westlake.edu.cn/.
