Position Description:

Koç University's Department of Media and Visual Arts (MAVA) invites applications for a full-time open-rank faculty position to start in September 2026. Applications submitted by January 19, 2026 will receive full consideration, with later applications reviewed as needed until the position is filled.

Qualifications and Position Responsibilities:

At the time of employment, candidates should have a Ph.D. in media studies or a related field. Areas of specialization are open, but candidates specializing in new and emerging media, media and culture industries, media and politics, platform studies, television and film studies, game studies, media and labor, or strategic communication are particularly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to have an active research agenda. Applicants whose research is interdisciplinary and who conduct research with diverse approaches, including qualitative, historical, or computational methods, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will teach two courses per semester (such as Media Research Methods, Introduction to Media and Communication, and Media and Culture Industries).

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
