The Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering (MIME) in the Faculty of Engineering & Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for three (3) tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in Mechatronics Engineering. We welcome applicants in all areas of Mechatronics/Robotics that complement research of the Mechatronics Engineering group (deadline for full consideration: March 1, 2026). ● Position 1: Open to candidates who self-identify as women. The position details and application link are available: https://hr.cf.torontomu.ca/ams/faculty/preview.cfm?posting_id=557303 The successful candidates will engage in a combination of teaching, scholarly research or creative activity and service duties while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities. Teaching duties will entail teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervising students, and/or developing curriculum. The successful candidates will further pursue a strong, externally funded, and innovative research program or creative activity that produces cutting-edge, high-quality results. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical-Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field by the appointment date. In addition, the successful candidates must present evidence of: ● a strong background in theoretical/experimental mechatronics/robotics that complements the research of the Mechatronics Engineering group, which can be found here. ● a strong emerging scholarly research and/or creative activity that is current, innovative, and impactful as evidenced by, but not limited to, peer-reviewed publications, working papers, public policy contributions, presentations at academic conferences, community and professional work, grants, research-related awards, and other writing or creative production that contributes to the visibility and prominence of the discipline; ● demonstrated potential for teaching excellence in Mechatronics Engineering at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum and suitability for teaching in the graduate program, as evidenced by a teaching dossier; ● commitment to our values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population; and ● an ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering (MIME) and the University community through collegial service. Eligibility for, and commitment to, acquiring the P.Eng. License in the Province of Ontario is a requirement. The minimum salary for the Assistant Professor rank is $103,916.30 per annum, however, salary will commensurate with qualifications.
