Position Description
The International Centre for Theoretical Physics Asia-Pacific (ICTP-AP) in Beijing, in collaboration with the theory group of Laboratoire de Physique Theorique et Hautes Energies(LPTHE), Sorbonne University in France, announces the opening of one joint postdoctoral position for 2026. The candidate should have a doctoral degree and experience in High-Energy Particle Physics, especially in Axion Physics, Strong Dynamics, New Physics, and Effective Field Theory. The successful candidate is expected to work with Prof. Teng Ma (https://inspirehep.net/authors/1064170?ui-citation-summary=true) in ICTP-AP and Dr. Giacomo Cacciapaglia in LPTHE Paris. The candidate will spend two to three months each year visiting LPTHE. The position will be for two years, with the strong possibility of extending for a third year. The salary is around 320,000 CNY per year before tax. Additional funding is available for travel expenses, and benefits are purchased by the institute. Successful candidates will be encouraged to apply for PostDoc projects/fellowships at the university level; once succeeded, the salary will be increased accordingly. ICTP-AP operates in affiliation with the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and is under the auspices of UNESCO in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP, Trieste).
