Professor Brian Henning’s group at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in theoretical physics, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026 (negotiable). The appointment is for two years initially, with the possibility of a third-year extension contingent on performance and funding availability. The position is open to all areas of high energy theory, broadly defined. Applicants working in any subarea of hep-th or hep-ph are welcome. Candidates whose research interests overlap with or complement the group’s activities—including nonperturbative and real-time quantum field theory, Hamiltonian truncation methods, and effective field theory—are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants with expertise at the interface of formal theory and collider phenomenology, or with experience in machine learning methods applied to high energy physics, are also encouraged. The successful candidate will join Professor Henning’s research group and is expected to participate in its scientific activities. Opportunities for collaboration with the faculty mentor will be available. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field is required by the start date.
