The Macalester College Department of Chemistry invites applications for a five-course equivalent (1.0 FTE) non-tenure-track visiting position that will primarily involve teaching general and organic chemistry lecture and laboratory classes. This position may be renewable for a second year, contingent on ongoing need and a satisfactory review of teaching. The Macalester Chemistry Department is approved by the American Chemical Society, has nine full-time faculty members and a full-time laboratory instructor, and is committed to excellence in teaching and research. The most competitive candidates will demonstrate a like commitment to excellent teaching of our highly motivated and diverse student body.Applicants should have a Ph.D. or ABD in chemistry or a closely related field. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. In addition, candidates relying on an OPT Visa with a STEM extension are not eligible for hire.
Compensation and Benefits:
The starting salary range for this position will be $60,000-65,000 and will depend upon teaching experience and highest degree attained.
