Job call for Project Researcher at Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo Job title and Number of persons Project Researcher, one position Place of work Yamazaki Lab, Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo (7-3-1 Hongo, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) Scope/Mission We are seeking a highly motivated Project Researcher to join our JST CREST project on "Demonstration of non-invertible symmetry by analog quantum simulation." This interdisciplinary project aims to bridge cutting-edge mathematical physics (non-invertible symmetries) with state-of-the-art quantum simulation technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with Prof. Masahito Yamazaki (UTokyo), Prof. Tomoki Ozawa (Tohoku), and Prof. Seiji Sugawa (UTokyo). We provide a vibrant, international, and collaborative environment suitable for researchers who wish to lead the next generation of science. Term of employment The contract period is from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028 (or a part thereof, based on mutual agreement), with a possibility of extension up to March 31, 2029, depending on performance and funding availability. Wages, etc. Annual salary system will be applied, monthly gross salary about 360,000 JPY (to be determined based on academic background, work experience, etc.) Allowances: Commuting allowance (up to 55,000 per month if the payment conditions are satisfied) Qualification requirements The candidate must have a PhD at the beginning of the contract.
