Position Description
The Quantum Information/Condensed Matter Theory group of the Physics Department at École Normale Supérieure (LPENS) invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in theoretical physics. The project focuses on the theory of quantum magnetic skyrmions and their potential for quantum-information applications. We are looking for outstanding candidates with a strong background in condensed-matter theory and/or many-body quantum field theory, with interest in nonequilibrium quantum dynamics and connections to experimentally relevant questions. LPENS is a vibrant research environment, and the Paris area hosts a particularly active condensed-matter and quantum-science community. The expected start date is as soon as possible (flexible). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The official application deadline is March 14, 2026.
