Position Description

The Boston University Questrom School of Business seeks a post-doctoral scholar to collaborate full-time on research examining healthcare markets and organizational form under the mentorship of Prof. Keith Marzilli Ericson. The post-doctoral scholar will contribute to empirical projects examining the impacts of organizational form (e.g. ownership conversions) and contract design (e.g. pharmaceutical rebate structure) in healthcare markets.

This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with anticipated start date in Summer or Fall 2026. Subject to funding availability, performance, and mutual agreement, it has the possibility to be extended to a second-year. Responsibilities:

• Use advanced econometric methods to analyze large-scale datasets, including claims data

• Produce policy-relevant research, including coauthoring manuscripts

• Participate in the Ravi K. Mehrotra Institute for Business, Markets, and Society workshops and events

• Engage with the academic community through conferences and seminars Work location: This is a hybrid position. On-campus presence in Boston is expected approximately at least 2 days per week, with additional in-person days as needed for collaboration, meetings, and workshops.

Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in Economics or a related field by the time of appointment.

• Experience working with large administrative datasets or healthcare data

• Demonstrated advanced analytical skills including statistical programming in Python, Stata, R, and/or SAS

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• An ability to work both independently and in teams
