Position Description
Job Summary:
Professor Jennifer Lansford,
Duke Sanford, is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to join the “Intervention
Impacts on Child Wellbeing and Parenting across Generations” team.
The work requires working with large data sets related to
parenting and child development across multiple sites in the United States,
helping to prepare data and estimate models for a variety of research papers,
and interacting with a team of researchers from several universities. Knowledge
of advanced statistics and experience working with MPlus, SPSS, R, and other
statistical packages is required. Experience using large data sets and strong
analytical skills in psychology or other social science disciplines is
necessary.
Responsibilities:
Advanced statistical
modeling and data analysis – 60%

Conduct advanced statistical
modeling, including latent growth curve models, multi-group structural equation
modeling, latent trajectory analyses, and hierarchical linear modeling to
support project research objectives.
Manuscript preparation and
publication – 25%
·
Write and contribute to
manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, including drafting results sections,
interpreting findings, and revising papers based on collaborator and reviewer
feedback.
Research collaboration and
dissemination – 15%
·
Collaborate with investigators to
advance project goals related to data archiving, data sharing, and
dissemination of findings, and support coordination of research outputs.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work
described herein.

Required
Qualifications at this Level
- Education/Training
PhD in
psychology or a related social science discipline
Experience/Skills

Excellent English written and oral communication skills; high
level of attention to detail
- Advanced
knowledge and comfort with conducting advanced statistical modeling (e.g., latent growth curves,
multi-group structural equation modeling, latent trajectory analyses,
hierarchical linear modeling) and reporting results in peer-reviewed
journal articles
