Description

We invite applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship for an outstanding early-career researcher to join the research groups of Prof. Dr. S. Eggert and Dr. I. Schneider at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau.

With around 17,000 students, more than 300 professorships, and approximately 160 degree programs, the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) is the technical university of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. As a hub of internationally recognized research, it offers excellent working conditions and career opportunities. Students, researchers, and staff at RPTU experience a cosmopolitan environment and actively help shape the future.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of theoretical physics, with a focus on condensed matter systems and quantum optics. Our research explores fundamental and timely questions in non-equilibrium dynamics, periodically driven (Floquet) systems, anyons and exotic quasiparticles, and low-dimensional quantum many-body systems.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong expertise in • Numerical methods such as MPS/DMRG, and/or • Analytical field-theoretical approaches including bosonization. However, we welcome applications from all exceptionally qualified researchers whose interests align with our research directions.

You will become part of a highly collaborative and internationally connected research environment. In particular, the position is embedded in the Collaborative Research Center "Open System Control of Atomic and Photonic Matter” (https://www.physik.uni-kl.de/oscar/) where both groups actively contribute.

Your application should include a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research interests, a list of publications, copies of official transcripts, as well as the contact information of two referees.

Further information about our research can be found at https://www.physik.uni-kl.de/eggert/ and https://ischneider.physik.rptu.de/ . Please submit your application via email to ischneider@physik.uni-kl.de.

We are not accepting applications for this job through AcademicJobsOnline.Org right now. Please Please submit your application via email according to the above job description..
