Position Description

We invite motivated applicants with research interests in Ultrafast Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics and Attosecond science to a postdoctoral position in Prof. Fang's group in the Department of Physics at University of Central Florida (UCF). The candidate selected will participate in studies using table-top attosecond light sources and e/ion spectroscopy to investigate electron and ion dynamics subsequent to photoabsorption in atomic and molecular systems. Candidates with a background in experimental physics with an emphasis on strong field or attosecond physics and experience with electron/ion spectroscopy, high-power ultrafast lasers will be preferentially considered.

Qualifications and Requirements: Ph.D. (expected or obtained) in Physics, or a related field Strong hands-on skills with ultrafast lasers and/or with ion/electron spectrometers or similar spectroscopic instruments. Ability to work independently and with students

UCF is rapidly becoming a major center for the experimental and theoretical study of ultrafast electron dynamics in atoms, molecules and solids, and a point of reference on the East coast of the United States for the international attosecond community. UCF is a large public research university, with a growing Physics Department and a College of Optics & Photonics (CREOL) with few equals in the world. UCF main campus is located on the outskirt of Orlando, a city of everlasting Summer.
