Main responsibilities (expected)

(1)  Engage in interdisciplinary research integrating the humanities/social sciences and the natural sciences/engineering toward the realization of carbon neutrality (CN), and provide lectures (including university-wide Minor program) as well as research supervision.

(2)  Support the development of new CN-related research by utilizing expertise such as Digital twin, facilitating collaboration across different academic fields, and integrating the humanities/social sciences and the natural sciences/engineering.

(3) Plan, develop, and promote organizational collaborative research and educational collaboration projects with industry, governmental agencies, and other institutions.

(4)  Perform other duties as assigned by the Center, including human resource development,              planning and management of events, and coordination with other organizations.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

(1)  Possess a doctoral degree (excluding professional degrees) and have an outstanding research record in a field that contributes to the realization of a carbon-neutral (CN) society.

(2)  Have substantial expertise in the use of technology such as Digital twin, and demonstrate the ability and motivation to collaborate with researchers from diverse disciplines to advance interdisciplinary research integrating the humanities/social sciences and the natural sciences/engineering.

(3)  Possess practical skills in planning and coordination for joint research with industry or governmental organizations (prior experience is desirable).

(4)  Have sufficient proficiency in Japanese to perform duties such as internal coordination, lecture,       and external communication without difficulty.

7.Working conditions

(1) Working hours

Working days and working hours (including start and end times, and break periods) shall be determined in accordance with the university’s regulations. The Specialized Duties Discretionary Work System shall apply, under which working hours are deemed to be eight hours per day. Regarding research activities, the employee shall have discretion over the means of performing duties and the allocation of working time.

(2) Salary, allowances, and commuting expenses

In accordance with the university’s regulations.

(3) Holidays

Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, temporary holidays established by the university when classes are held on certain national holidays, and the university’s foundation anniversary. However, this excludes days on which the university has predetermined that classes will be held.

(4) Leave

Statutory leave as stipulated by the Labor Standards Act and other relevant laws, as well as additional leave designated by the university.

(5) Social insurance

Employees’ Pension Insurance, Health Insurance, Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance, and Employment Insurance.

(6) Severance / retirement benefits

In accordance with the university’s regulations.

The measures against second-hand smoking in your workplace.

Smoking is prohibited throughout the Waseda University campus, except in designated smoking areas.
