The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Assistant Professor position in the Master’s Direct Entry in Nursing Program. The Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing is part of UMass Chan Medical School’s academic health science center and is dedicated to preparing nurse scientists, advanced practice nurses, nurse educators, and nurse leaders who improve health care in Massachusetts and beyond. Position Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide didactic and clinical instruction in the Master’s Direct Entry program and participate in classroom, clinical, simulation, and laboratory-based teaching. Faculty are expected to employ evidence-based teaching strategies that promote clinical judgment and achievement of course outcomes. Additional responsibilities include curriculum development, student evaluation, academic advising, and service to the School and University. Expectations Faculty are expected to: • Support the mission, vision, and values of the University and School of Nursing • Facilitate students’ application of knowledge, skills, and clinical competencies • Utilize current e-learning technologies effectively • Design and evaluate learning outcomes and assessments • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff • Participate in curriculum development, program evaluation, and committee service Qualifications Required: • Eligibility for RN licensure in Massachusetts • Teaching experience in higher education • Doctoral preparation in nursing. Preferred: • Experience in accelerated or direct-entry nursing programs • Online teaching experience • Peer-reviewed, practice-oriented scholarship • Familiarity with concept-based learning Salary and Benefits Salary range: $110,000–$124,000 The position will remain open until filled.
