The Institute of Applied Computer Science at the Jagiellonian Univeristy in
Kraków, Poland, invites applications for an assistant position.
The candidates should:
- hold at least a Master’s degree, Master of Science degree or an equivalent degree;
- exhibit aptitude for research work,
- be prepared for carrying out teaching work.
Additional requirements necessary for employment (indicated in order of priority):
- documented scientific achievements in the field of computer science, evaluated with respect to the period of their attainment.
- ability to conduct courses in computer science in Polish.
- experience in one of the research areas represented at the Institute of Applied Computer Science will be considered an additional asset.
Duration of employment: 24 months, extendable, starting from October 1, 2026
Required documents include:
- resume,
- personal questionnaire filled in by the Candidate (F/M),
- copy of the master’s diploma or a doctoral diploma, if applicable,
- information on the Candidate’s (F/M) scientific, teaching and organizational achievements,
- declaration of the Candidate (F/M), confirming that the Jagiellonian University will be their primary place of work, should they be selected in the selection procedure,
- statement under Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
- statement on acknowledging and accepting the rules and regulations concerning intellectual property management and commercialization in force at the Jagiellonian University,
- application (cover letter),
- list of publications (including publisher and number of pages),
- reviews of the doctoral dissertation if the Candidate (F/M) has one,
- information about the prepared and implemented teaching activities, if the Candidate (F/M) conducted them,
- information about participation in scientific projects and professional experience,
- information on obtained grants and grant applications, if the Candidate (F/M) has them,
- at least one letter of recommendation testifying the Candidate's (F/M) predispositions and qualifications for scientific research. The letter of recommendation must be sent directly by its author to the secretariat of the Institute of Applied Computer Science (joanna.pajorska@uj.edu.pl). Letters of recommendation may be disclosed to the Candidates (F/M) upon their explicit request.
