Position Description

Boğaziçi University Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) invites applications for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions, with a preference for hiring at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels. We welcome outstanding candidates working in all fields of data science. Areas of particular interest include;

- Predictive Data Science,

- Big Data Systems,

- Cloud and Data Engineering Systems,

- Business Intelligence and Decision Analytics,

- Social and Human-Centered Data Science,

- Cognitive Data Science,

- Data Science for Health, Finance, Environment, and Society.

Candidates are expected to hold PhD degrees from top-ranked universities, have a strong publication record in first-class international journals and/or leading data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, information systems, and computing venues, and demonstrate full dedication to high-impact research, excellence in teaching, graduate supervision, and service to the academic community.

• Curriculum vitae;

• Research statement, no more than 3 pages, describing past research accomplishments, future research plans, and experiences demonstrating commitment to a diverse and inclusive research environment;

• Teaching and mentoring statement, no more than 3 pages, describing teaching philosophy, previous teaching and mentoring experiences, future teaching plans, and experiences promoting an inclusive learning environment;

• List of two to four references who can provide letters on behalf of the candidate; letters will be requested after the first round of application evaluations;

• Representative publications. Publications in leading journals and conferences in data science, machine learning, statistics, artificial intelligence, information systems, databases, and computing, such as KDD, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, EACL, IJCAI, SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, TheWebConf, CVPR, and related venues, are considered a strong plus.

Applicants should have an earned doctorate in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
