Position Description

The International Comparative Studies Program (ICS), Duke University is seeking an experienced Research Associate for a short-term project-based contract. They will gather data and research on the impact that ICS has at Duke and where it stands in relation to similar critical global studies programs around the country. Tasks will include: 1. Tabulating data over time on ICS majors, the courses they take, and who teaches them, their other majors, and certificates. 2. Comparing ICS student engagement with other interpretive social sciences and humanities major students at Duke. 3. Drawing a picture of who our Gateway students have been over the last ten years 4. Describing and analyzing the kinds of research our seniors do – language, themes, countries, disciplines, etc.

Successful candidates will understand the undergraduate landscape at Duke, have an excellent grasp of the goals and culture of the Comparative International Studies program, and be willing to engage with student-facing software at Duke. We expect the completion of the work in December 2026. This position requires a PhD.
