Duke University School of Nursing Job Title: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Nurse Anesthesia Faculty Department: Office of Academic Affairs Supervisor: Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Applications must be received by September 30, 2026. We are currently seeking applications for an experienced doctorally-prepared Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the faculty of our nationally ranked Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Nurse Anesthesia program. Preference will be given to those candidates with extensive clinical experience, a record of state or national leadership, and evidence of scholarship. The primary responsibilities of this role include full-time teaching of nurse anesthesia courses, serving as a Chair or committee member for DNP-nurse anesthesia students scholarly projects, and mentoring students in collaboration with the program faculty. All DNP-nurse anesthesia courses are taught face-to-face on campus. Qualifications: This full-time on-campus position requires three years of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and a record of success in graduate nursing education. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated leadership, advocacy efforts and a program of scholarship, which encompasses not only peer-reviewed publications but may also include conference presentations, development of practice guidelines, and implementation of quality improvement projects. Faculty appointment for this position will be made at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level on Track II (a non-tenure earning practice/clinical track) with the expectation that teaching could span across the academic programs at DUSON. The Duke Nursing community includes over 85 full-time faculty members, over 120 staff members and nearly 1,200 students. The school offers four nursing degree programs:1) pre-licensure Master’s of Nursing (MN) program for students with an earned baccalaureate (or higher) degree, 2) Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Post-graduate certificate programs, 3) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) that includes the Nurse Anesthesia program, 4) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD program).
