The William H. Miller III Department of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for endowed postdoctoral prize positions, most notably the next class of Miller Postdoctoral Prize Fellows: outstanding early-career scientists who will pursue independent research of their own choosing ( https://physics-astronomy.jhu.edu/graduate/miller-postdoctoral-prize-fellowships/ ). The department has strong programs in astrophysics, cosmology and gravity, condensed-matter physics, particle physics, biological physics, atomic, molecular and optical physics, and the physics of learning. It also benefits from its close relationship with the Space Telescope Science Institute, located on the Johns Hopkins campus. Fellows may work in any of these areas and choose the faculty they work with after they arrive. More about the department and its research: https://physics-astronomy.jhu.edu . The appointment is formally for one year, renewable for up to three years, and will be at either the postdoctoral or assistant research scientist level commensurate with prior experience and JHU plans. Fellows receive $5,000 per year in research funds. The salary range for this position is $77,500 to $80,750 per year. Benefits for the position as described at Benefits & Worklife | Human Resources. Fellowships start in summer or fall 2027. Applicants must have completed all requirements for the PhD by the start of the appointment.
