Assistant Professor in Residence, Psychological Sciences, Hartford

The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut in Storrs seeks to fill a full-time faculty position at the Hartford Campus. This position is for a non-tenure track “In-Residence” faculty, which may lead to long-term multi-year contracts.

The University of Connecticut is a top-20 public university in the U.S.  The Department of Psychological Sciences is routinely ranked in top 10 in U.S. grant funding and its doctoral program is ranked in top 30 public research universities by The National Research Council.

The successful candidate will teach three undergraduate courses per semester.  Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate majors and outreach activities for the Psychological Sciences Department at the Hartford Campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field conferred by August 22, 2017, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and experience mentoring undergraduate students.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Preferred qualifications include the ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience, background in research methods, teaching expertise that complements that of current faculty, and evidence of an interest in continuing previous research activity.

Appointment Terms: 

This a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position at the Hartford Campus which may lead to long-term multi-year contracts. This position has an anticipated start date of August 23, 2017. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
