Position Description:    

The School of Physics of the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a faculty position in theoretical condensed matter physics with an emphasis on computational aspects, beginning Fall 2018. The appointment is expected to be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications. We are especially interested in individuals with a track-record in developing novel algorithmic tools and numerical methods to study emergent phenomena in many-body systems such as quantum materials. This position is the first step in our ambitious plan to seize new research opportunities at the confluence of quantum matter, information and technology. The new faculty member will benefit from strong condensed matter and atomic, molecular and optical physics programs, as well as broad mathematics and computing research across the Institute. Successful applicants are expected to contribute to our research and educational goals.

The School of Physics is situated at the heart of the Georgia Institute of Technology campus in Midtown Atlanta and benefits from its association with a vibrant, global metropolis.
