MICHAEL D. JOHNSON FAMILY PROFESSORSHIP OF SERVICES MARKETING The School of Hotel Administration at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty member for the Michael D. Johnson Family Professorship of Services Marketing. Position Description: The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University is seeking exceptional candidates for a tenure-track position in marketing at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level with an established reputation in services marketing, and who can perform research and teach at a quality level that is consistent with the school’s pre-eminent status. The ideal candidate can effectively interact with students, faculty, and the hospitality industry, and enrich the intellectual capital of the school through their research and teaching activities in the area of services marketing. Research should have the potential to influence both academics and practitioners. Qualifications: Ideal candidates will currently hold the rank of Associate or Full Professor and have a reputation in services marketing. The candidate should have a strong publication record in the top marketing journals, as well as field and service-focused journals, and meet the school’s current tenure standards of research excellence. The candidate should be able to effectively communicate with hospitality industry leaders and have a strong record of teaching courses at the undergraduate, masters, and executive levels. A research focus in hospitality is desired, but a focus on the service industry is required. Candidate must be willing to develop expert knowledge of services marketing in the hospitality industry. A Ph.D. degree in the fields of marketing or other appropriate field from a recognized program is required. Institution: The School of Hotel Administration

Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. The college is one of the most comprehensive business schools in the country with 208 faculty and nearly 2,900 undergraduate, professional, and graduate students. The holder of the Johnson Chair of Services Marketing would be part of a unified marketing group of 19 tenure track faculty members serving undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. This individual would be expected to teach primarily in the programs of the School of Hotel Administration (SHA). Cornell’s SHA is the global leader in hospitality and related services research and has access to high level industry data as well as top management across the globe. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses designed to support services marketing. Top-level multi-disciplinary research is valued, as is dissemination of cutting-edge ideas and practices to hospitality executives. Application: Consideration of candidates will begin immediately.
