Description: The Department of Political Science seeks candidates for a tenure-track position affiliated with the university’s new Institute for Democratic Engagement and Accountability. In keeping with the university’s motto, “Education for Citizenship,” we welcome applications from scholars broadly interested in the health of democracy, especially the conditions for energetic democratic participation and effective governance. Successful candidates may specialize in one or more areas, including political behavior, political communication, political economy, political psychology, political theory, the policymaking process, race and ethnic politics, or others. Further, we are open with respect to subfield, though we are especially interested in applicants who focus on or include the American case. This position is available pending budget approval.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD or plan to have a PhD in political science by autumn 2018. A successful candidate will have a strong research agenda, evidence of teaching excellence, and the promise of attracting external funding. Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
