INTRODUCTION

The University of Connecticut (UConn) is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Accounting at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The department has 29 full-time faculty members, approximately 400 undergraduate majors, 150 masters’ students, and a Ph.D. program. The department is separately accredited by AACSB and offers nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including one of the nation’s first online Masters in Accounting programs.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research and scholarship through high-quality publications, impact as measured through citations, and national recognition. The successful candidate will share a deep commitment to effective instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, innovative courses and instruction methods, and mentoring of students in research, outreach, and professional development. Successful candidates will also be expected to broaden participation among members of under-represented groups; demonstrate through research, teaching, and/or public engagement their commitment to, and support of, diversity in the learning experience; integrate multicultural experiences into instructional methods and research tools, and provide leadership in developing pedagogical techniques designed to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and intellectual interests.

Founded in 1881, UConn is a Land Grant and Sea Grant institution and a member of the Space Grant Consortium. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Earned Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Accounting or related field expected by August 22, 2022; a potential for excellence in teaching; demonstrated potential in establishing a successful research and scholarship program, and a deep commitment to promoting diversity through their academic and research programs. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

For experienced candidates, a record of publication, an established research program, and evidence of effectiveness in teaching.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2022. The successful candidate’s academic appointment will be at the Storrs campus. Faculty may also be asked to teach online or at one of UConn’s regional campuses as part of their ordinary workload. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
