Duke University, Departments of Biomedical Engineering seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of stem cell biology, tissue engineering, and disease modeling. The successful candidate will work jointly in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Medicine with an interdisciplinary team of biologists, engineers, and clinicians led by the PI Prof. Samira Musah. An ideal candidate for this position will be an individual with a Ph.D. degree in cell biology, stem cell and developmental biology, bioengineering, genetics, chemical-biology or a related field; or an individual with an M.D.-Ph.D. degree with strong research experiences in any of these areas. Candidates with experience in cell biology, tissue engineering, genome engineering, organoids or organs-on-chips technologies are particularly encouraged to apply. There will be significant opportunities for professional growth and career development activities.

A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects within the scope of: (1) Stem cell biology and tissue engineering; (2) organoids and organs-on-chips microphysiological systems; (3) Human disease modeling and discovery of therapeutic targets. We will continue to review applications on a rolling basis as they are submitted until the appropriate candidate has been identified.
