The Department of French & Italian, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Senior Lecturer in French to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The Department of French and Italian at The Ohio State University invites applications for a two year, renewable appointment as a benefits-eligible senior lecturer in Francophone literary and cultural studies with classes starting August 20, 2019. Research interests preferred in West Africa and/or the Caribbean. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in English and French, and a strong record of college-level teaching. Teaching is at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, including large enrollment General Education classes in English. The position carries a three-course per semester teaching load and service responsibilities involving creative outreach and recruitment with the OSU and local communities. PhD in French and Francophone Studies, or a related field, must be obtained by the time of appointment.
