The successful candidate will bring their vision and leadership skills and be interested in engaging a department of outstanding faculty, students, and staff to promote a productive, collegial environment, and to build upon the department's nationally recognized strengths in research, industry partnership, and undergraduate/graduate education. Lehigh's MSE Department is consistently ranked among the top 35 nationally. The department currently awards B.S., M.S., M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering, as well as M.S., M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Polymer Science and Engineering. MSE faculty have attained national prominence in the thematic research areas of Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing, Materials for Advancing Human Health, and Advanced Materials Characterization, with annual research expenditures totaling $5 million. The successful candidate will join a growing interdisciplinary group of faculty members at Lehigh University working within one or more of our three Interdisciplinary Research Institutes; namely the Institutes for Functional Materials and Devices, for Cyber Physical Infrastructure, and for Data, Intelligent Systems and Computation.
