Full Professor and Perella Chair in Finance

The Perella Department of Finance, which is part of Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics (CBE), is now accepting applications for a tenured Full Professor of Finance who will also hold the Perella Chair. This chair recognizes funding support from Mr. Joseph Perella, a Wall Street luminary. The position includes competitive salary and research support. The chair will be awarded for a five-year period, beginning Fall 2019, and is renewable upon evidence of sound productivity.

Candidates for the position must have a distinguished record of research in Finance with publications in the top Finance journals. The candidate hired for the position will be expected to provide a leadership role in the research endeavors of the department, to mentor other faculty, assist in development of academic programs, and to strengthen ongoing relationships with the business community. Given the research emphasis, the teaching load has been set at 9 credit hours per academic year (i.e., a 3-course teaching load for the academic year) subject to productivity and CBE policies on teaching loads. For this position, the minimum requirement is a Ph.D. degree. This position is expected to complement ongoing developments within the department, the college, and the university.

Our flagship undergraduate program in finance is highly rated and is the largest major in terms of graduating seniors at commencement. The department also benefits from a significant presence on Wall Street through the many alumni that work there. The aim of the department is to further increase the visibility of our finance programs and the college. The chosen candidate is expected to contribute significantly to this effort through research, teaching, and service.
