The Brandeis High-Energy and Gravitational Theory Group invites applications for a postdoc starting in fall 2019. Our group, which includes faculty members Matthew Headrick and Albion Lawrence, conducts research in quantum field theory, classical and quantum gravity, quantum information theory, cosmology, and related areas of theoretical physics. The successful candidate will be an "It from Qubit Fellow", a full member of It from Qubit: Simons Collaboration on Quantum Fields, Gravity, and Information, with the opportunity to participate in meetings of the Collaboration and visit other universities in the Collaboration. We are therefore looking for applicants with a significant research interest in problems at the interface of high-energy theory and quantum information theory.

The appointment will be for two years, with the anticipation of renewal for a third year contingent on funding and performance. Applicants should send a cover letter, research statement, and list of publications to, and arrange for at least three letters of reference to be sent as well. For full consideration, please submit by Wednesday, January 2, although we may consider applications sent after that date.

Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. Brandeis University is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic global community, and as an EEO/AA employer, considers applications for employment without regard to gender, race, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
