The Division of Health Services Management and Policy (HSMP) in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University (OSU) is searching for an outstanding candidate for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full-Professor to teach and conduct research in the area of health care management.  We especially welcome candidates interested in organizational behavior, operations management, health care quality and safety, strategy or information technology management as it applies to health systems and population health.  The successful candidate will have opportunities to teach in the division’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program and Ph.D. Program, as well as in the College’s Master of Public Health program for experienced professionals.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of applied management research and, depending on career stage, the potential for or success in securing external funding to support that research. 

The HSMP Division’s MHA program is currently ranked by US News and World Reports as 10th in the country among accredited programs in health care management.  Faculty within the Division represent a wide range of disciplines and expertise, including health care management, operations management, health economics, health policy, medical sociology and health care finance.  The faculty conduct research addressing a variety of topics, including quality improvement, care coordination, financing care for underserved populations, patient decision making, the effect of Affordable Care Act coverage changes on utilization among Medicare patients, and evaluation of new models of health care service delivery, e.g. Accountable Care.  As a leading research institution with the most comprehensive health sciences campus in the country, The Ohio State University provides excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and research.  Faculty within the HSMP Division collaborate with faculty in colleges across the OSU campus, including Business, Public Affairs, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy among others (for additional details see https://cph.osu.edu/hsmp).  

Qualifications:  Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D., or equivalent degree, with training in health care management, systems change, organizational behavior, operations management, or other related disciplines.  Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies.
