The Ohio State
University (OSU) College of Public Health is seeking a clinical track
(non-tenure earning) faculty member to join its Division of Health Services
Management and Policy. This is a 9-month appointment. There may be options for
teaching and additional salary support during the summer. The successful
candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in support of the
continued growth of health services management and policy within the College of
Public Health. The candidate will also assist with curriculum development for
new degree or certificate programs.
The Division
currently consists of 11 faculty members whose research areas include
healthcare management, health services research and health policy amongst a
variety of healthcare settings, using a broad spectrum of research
methodologies. The Division is responsible for curricula leading to MHA, MPH,
and PhD degrees. The Division’s Master of Health Administration program is
currently ranked by the U.S. News & World Report among the top 10 programs
in the nation. The College of Public Health has an established undergraduate
major and minor in public health and anticipates continued growth in these
areas during the next several years.
Qualifications
The successful
candidate will have a positive track record of teaching or the potential to
develop in this area. It is not the expectation that the candidate will be active
in research. Job responsibilities will include teaching up to five courses per
academic year (graduate or undergraduate level), developing curriculum and
instructional material for courses, participating in division and college
program initiatives, serving on college and division committees, and advising
and mentoring students. Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in public
health, health care management, or a related field. Desired experience includes
a track record of teaching and positive teaching evaluations.
