Research Faculty Position


The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications from outstanding individuals for a non-tenured research faculty position in the area of computational aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. This position will be expected to attract funding to develop and sustain active sponsored research programs, advise MS and PhD students, and provide intellectual leadership and exhibit outstanding scholarship in their research field. This position will be affiliated with Ohio State University’s Simulation Innovation and Modeling Center (SIMCenter). The search preference is for individuals at the assistant professor level, but all will be considered.


Candidates must have, by the start date, an earned doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, and at least 5 years of computational fluid dynamics, aeroacoustics, and heat transfer modeling research expertise. The candidate should have research experience in computational fluid dynamics, computational aeroacoustics, and/or computational heat transfer. Successful applicants for the position will have an established record of work conducting research related to the automotive, aerospace, and energy sector with a focus on simulation for virtual product development.
