Tenure Track Faculty Position Smart Mobility Program

 DESCRIPTION 

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications from outstanding individuals for a tenure track faculty position that serves as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and as the director of a smart mobility program in the Office of Research to provide on-campus leadership in the area of mobility, including new technology, sustainability, and the socio-economic aspects of mobility. This position will develop innovative and internationally-preeminent programs of research and student learning in this field while also actively supporting and advancing the Ohio State University‚Äôs Core Values. The position will lead a research program and engage in outreach/engagement efforts to government, industry and the public at large. 

This position brings experience to the classroom and develops appropriate undergraduate and/or graduate courses, works with the Center for Automotive Research, the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis, and with other relevant units with focus on mobility in the College of Engineering and in the University.  Position will provide leadership in partnering with and engaging state, federal and international governments in the formulation of research programs and initiatives and  leverages own professional network to raise awareness of the strengths, assets and capabilities of The Ohio State University and gains appointments for him/her and other Ohio State faculty and staff on key boards and advisory committees. Position will also secure and assist in securing research funding from traditional and non-traditional sources and helps integrate technical, social and economic aspects of mobility into collaborations across colleges and schools.   

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or related area, or equivalent qualifications; experience in formulating and leading major research programs at a government research agency; established research qualifications in the field of mobility.

Desired: A wide network of contacts in government, industry, and FFRDCs in the broad area of mobility.
