The Department of Writing & Rhetoric at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Rhetoric and Composition, beginning fall semester 2020. The department seeks a colleague who can contribute to the ongoing development of its liberal arts program in rhetoric, writing, and speaking.

Required qualifications: PhD, completed or near completion in rhetoric and composition; demonstrated excellence in teaching introductory and intermediate writing. Preferred secondary specialties include history and theory of rhetoric, rhetorics of race, gender, ethnicity, culture, and/or popular culture, composition pedagogy, or public speaking.

Teaching responsibilities for the year consist of five courses. There will be an opportunity to teach or develop a new course that would contribute to the Writing & Rhetoric minor concentration.
