Postdoctoral Associate, Radiation Oncology/Radio Bio Cancer Division

Department: Radiation Oncology/Radio Bio Cancer Division/Kirsch Lab Job Description: The Kirsch lab utilizes sophisticated genetically engineered mice to study cancer and radiation biology. Ongoing studies include experiments studying normal tissue response to radiation (Lee et al., Nat Commun 2015), mechanisms of tumor response to radiation alone (Moding et al., Sci Transl Med 2015) and in combination with immunotherapy, sarcoma development (Blum et al., Cell Reports 2013), and metastasis (Sachdeva et al., JCI 2014). We have recently adapted the CRISPR/Cas9 system to model sarcomas (Huang et al., Nat Commun 2017) and study metastasis. We are seeking an investigator who is passionate about science to join our lab as a post-doctoral fellow. We welcome applications from trainees, who would thrive in a collaborative environment.

The incumbent must be a true post-doctoral fellow registered with the Post Doc Office and per the following requirements:

The term of this appointment is limited (5 years with a possible extension for an additional year) The appointment involves substantially full-time research or scholarship, which may include teaching responsibilities. The appointment is viewed as preparatory for a full time academic or research career. The appointment is not part of a clinical research training program, unless research training under the supervision of a senior mentor is a primary purpose of the appointment. The appointee works under the supervision of a scholar or a department at Duke University. The appointee has the freedom, and is expected to publish the results of his or her research or scholarship during the period of the appointment.
